Shannon & Nicole Howard

What's a girl to do without a sister?  I'm so lucky to have two older sisters to go through everything before me and give me advice when I need it.  Although the fights over clothes and shoes always turn into World War 3, at the end of the day I know that they have my back no matter what.
My sister, Shannon, and her son, Logan.
My oldest step-sister, Shannon, is quite a bit older than me and will be turning 30 at the end of this month.  I never like to use the word "step" when I'm talking about Shannon because she's just as much a sister to me as Nicole is.  Both Shannon and I look exactly like our dad and our personalities are similar as well.  Shannon was always very into sports until her sophmore year when she blew out her knee during basketball season.  My dad's famous excuse for her not re-habing it was that she "discovered" boys.  My parents told me that Shannon was known as the party animal in high school but they knew she would turn her life around someday and that's exactly what she did.  A few years ago she went back to school to get her nursing degree and soon after that got married to an amazing guy, Brad.  Last year, Brad and Shannon were blessed with a baby boy named Logan who in my opinion is the cutest nephew in the world.  Although it may be suprising, I talk about him almost as much as my wirters workshop teacher, Mrs.Flurry, talks about her son, Liam.   They are great parents and I couldn't be happier for her.
My other sister, Nicole, and I are three years apart so we are a lot closer to eachother.  Although we fight all the time over the silliest things, I know for a fact that my life would not be the same without her.  Not only is she a hard worker but she is also involved in so much such as being captain of dance team, running cross country, being in NHS, spanish NHS, and cadet teaching.  She is one of those people that I can act completly goofy around and I love that about her.  In a few months she will be going to college and although I deny it sometimes I think that I really will miss her.
I know that my sisters and I will always stay close no matter what the future holds.  Like I said before, what's a girl to do without a sister?

  1. I love this! As someone with a sister myself, I cherish her friendship every day. It's difficult because she lives in San Fran, but sisters stay close no matter what, right?!
